Bob Bates is the owner of Tran Nuigini Tours and several award-winning luxury lodges (Ambua Lodge, Sepik Spirit Lodge and Rondon Ridge Lodge in Mount Hagen).

Before COVID-19, he employed 250 locals. He operated with 95% of international clientele.

After COVID-19 hit, he had to lay off 200 employees and scale down operations to 10%.

Bob targeted the expatriate clientele living in Papua New Guinea to sustain his businesses, funded and completed road building project to Rondon and ensure energy distribution to the community.
